Rhinos and Roses Ready to Roll in March

Hanover is home to both a minor league football team – the Hanover Rhinos, and a raucous roller derby team – the Black Rose Rollers. Both teams kick off their spring seasons in March.

With a history dating back to the 1950’s, the Hanover Rhinos minor league football team kicks off their season March 11 against the Virginia Beach Rhinos (yep, the team shares a mascot with its biggest rival). Visit www.hanoverrhinos.org for more information about the team and to view the season schedule.

Founded in 2010, the Black Rose Rollers is an all-female roller derby team looking to have fun in a family-friendly environment. The Rollers are scheduled to take on the River City Roller Girls from Richmond, Va. on March 26 at Magic Elm Skateland, 625 West Elm Ave., Hanover. Visit www.blackroserollers.com for more information and to purchase tickets.
